A watch brand designed around a lifestyle of entrepreneurs. These are not watches for collectors, but for the smarty-dressed, reliable and punctual individuals.
Vanadium is a watchmaker making premium chronographs designed for daily use. Noticing an open space in the watch market, they aimed their product directly at people in new businesses that need a quality and reliable timepiece. They had their market chosen and the products to match so the only thing left was to build an identity that reflected it.
Our identity solutions took a couple of different directions. Our first approach took a chemistry perspective, focusing on the metal and structure behind it. Our second focused on the crafting process of a classic watch.
One of our guidelines was to give the company a premium feel without going into watch collector-territory.
One of our hurdles was to create something that was scalable. This hasn’t been done by many watch brands before, so we actually took a responsive-logo approach — we created three different sizes of marks.
Our result produced a versatile identity. A circular logo was the choice with scaling in mind. At a larger-size, we wanted to show any details without it looking simple. At smaller sizes we took elements away while still keeping it light.
Due to the company’s future plans, it was important to create something that could be used in many places for advertising. In a majority of the applications, this logo would be paired with luxury companies. Race tracks, cricket fields and sponsored cars were all on the list of marketing plans.
